Bethany originally trained as an occupational therapist and worked in the field of adolescent mental health, particularly in acute and longer-term inpatient settings. She later completed a Masters in Mental Health, specialising in art psychotherapy.
For the past 17 years, Bethany has been co-coordinating the HEAL program, a trauma-informed, school-based mental health service at Milpera State High School. This program supports the well-being of newly arrived young people of refugee background through the use of expressive therapies.
The Mental Health Professionals’ Network (MHPN) respectfully acknowledges the Wurundjeri and the Boon Wurrung people of the Kulin nation, the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land on which our office is situated. We also acknowledge Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.
